Seeing Past The Edge – by David Yurth

This is the prologue of a book by David Yurth, who questions many of the basic presuppositions of science as practiced today.

A very important point David makes, and with which I completely agree, is that we have to start acknowledging “spiritual stuff” to be part and parcel of existence, to accept that the physical does not exist independently of the underlying spiritual patterns.

He has been attacked for what he says. No wonder, there are plenty of those “guardians of orthodoxy” out there who are tasked with not allowing the development and spreading of any alternative views in physics, cosmology and science in general. After all, science is a wonderful tool to control what we think and do.

SEEING PAST THE EDGE – PROLOGUE

Technology by itself cannot be expected to improve the quality of our lives. Indeed, until we are willing to fundamentally alter the way we treat the planet and each other, our technologies may extinguish all life as we know it within the next 50 years. This is a bitter and sobering thought. We are running out of time.

Are We Starseeds?

If you’re in for something serious, watch this video but let me give you fair warning. It is a very deep rabbit hole… actually I would say it might be the mother of all rabbit holes. But there is at least some light at the end of the tunnel.

The situation is rather serious and we are still far away from a solution. In as few words as I can say it – the Sun appears to be due to embark on an energetic downturn. Its energy potential as measured by solar wind and sunspots is weakening. It appears that we can expect an ice age, perhaps in as little as 20 or 30 years… maybe 50. This might seem relatively far away for most, but it could happen in our lifetimes. The video I linked here has all the data. It talks about the historical record of the sun’s activity and the indicators that something may be amiss. What then follows further down in the article is my own speculation…

The video presentation is slow and long but more than interesting. Only watch it when you have some time. Rolf Witzsche lays out the sun’s long term cycles and correlates them with the historical record we have on ice ages. He then goes on to explain how we may be on the cusp of another long cold period, an ice age.

Solar activity declining

Right now, meaning within the next few decades, our sun is expected to enter a phase of serious decline in energetic activity. The consequences for humanity are potentially catastrophic.

Unless we can figure out a way – within the next 20 to 30 years – of somehow sustaining or energizing the sun, we might as well prepare for life in the equatorial regions. Ultimately the ice age will not leave much of today’s higher life on the surface.

And yes, this IS something that can happen in our current lifetime…

A new Awareness

This is an article I wrote in 1995. The text never made it into my historical website … probably because it was never accepted for publication in print. I am putting it here with slight edits for readability, for record’s sake, a historical document.

I also find that in all these years, What I wrote hasn’t lost any of its relevance. We still need to get our heads out of the sand and start taking over our spaceship earth …

A new Awareness

We become aware of new things. This is nothing strange and happens every day. The process of learning or of acquiring new awareness depends on true information, clearly presented. It is hindered or even prevented by false or incomplete information.

Magazines such as Raum&Zeit favour an increase in awareness because they present information without censoring and in a way that promotes critical thought.

But for the most part what is offered in the mass media, including press, TV and movies, is of a numbing quality. These media are being used as instruments of propaganda. They are filled with false and one-sided information. This of course doesn’t favour free development of opinion and awareness.

Television, with its overbearing way to hammer viewers with images and impressions, without ever giving them the time to critically analyse, is a most potent “environmental poison”. Those falling into tv-dependency show a certain slackness, a loss of ability to critically evaluate. They are smugly satisfied, having found their place in the false reality built and controlled by the tube.

Despite all this, there is a growing number who are becoming more and more aware. Aware in the sense that they do not get put to sleep by the mass media, aware of themselves and of their environment. It is modern now to learn about and to experience spiritual abilities. It is modern to think and act in ecological terms. But is that really enough to bring about a change?

Could Money be designed to sustain the Commons?

This was first written in answer to a question on Quora. The question was:

How might a currency be designed that helps build the commons?

I am putting my answer in an article here on the blog, after it was previously put in a note on fb, to preserve it and make the information available. Here is what I wrote…

If a currency could eliminate or at least attenuate the profit motive, which seems to drive most if not all economic activity today at the expense of the commons …

If that currency could lessen or even eliminate poverty, which can also act as a driver for activities that endanger the commons…

it might remove some of the pressure that is put on the commons for the purely economic reasons that grow out of greed and necessity…

but to actually build up the commons, active intervention might be needed.

That brings me to the proposals Silvio Gesell made in “Die Natürliche Wirtschaftsordnung” (The NATURAL ECONOMIC ORDER) almost a century ago.

Silvio Gesell

We must realize that this book needs to be read with some patience, first because of the less-than-optimal translation that is available on the net and then because of the time that has passed since the book was written. Completed and first published in 1916, the work is a product of its time and back then, times were different from what they are today. Many of the conditions and events made reference to would be difficult, to understand. So reading Gesell’s book would also imply translating the concepts Gesell expressed into a modern day setting.

I will attempt to give a short overview of what Gesell envisioned in his monetary and social reform proposal, and how it could help build up the commons in a rather effective way.

Healing Crisis

Some people around here are complaining of old injuries flaring up and becoming painful again, or of having strange pains that shouldn’t be there.

Someone commented on fb recently that this may have to do with the emanations of cell phone towers combined with morgellons disease, fibres that grow under the skin, and that have been traced to chemicals sprayed in the high atmosphere as part of an unacknowledged government sponsored program to “deal with global warming”. I don’t agree that this is the cause however.

There is something called a healing crisis. People in natural medicine also call it a Herxheimer reaction, after the doctor who first described it. There is a principle in natural medicine that says ”it will get worse before it can get better…”

Natural cures do not suppress symptoms such as pain, they rather promote healing at a deeper level. We get to look at what happened, really experience it, after which it usually vanishes … all of a sudden it’s gone!

So what is happening is that in a time of healing, we start looking at things we managed to suppress before. As these things come into focus, pains, physical or emotional in nature, may appear before the injury is really healed and vanishes for good.

That brings me to a pain I have been feeling recently, which I would like to cite as an example.

My right shoulder, for no apparent good reason, is giving me some pain. Nothing serious, but it has been there, on and off, for a few weeks. The pain reminds me of an injury I had a few years ago, from carelessly overstretching my arm trying to catch a frisbee. I pulled a tendon in my shoulder. The shoulder remained very painful for months before it calmed down. Apparently the injury never healed completely and the pain remained there, in a suppressed state.

It’s getting better now.

I believe we are generally in a time of healing. Don’t be afraid if you feel some unusual pain, or an old injury flaring up again … it’s all part of the deal.

Pains and old injuries will pass, even without intervention from the medical side. One thing you should NOT do is to try and “medicate” the pain away with painkillers. That interrupts the healing process. Try to own the pain, acknowledge it and know it is part of you. In time it will vanish.

I should add that I have found much relief and a source of strength in an old remedy, which I described in a separate article called “Best Flu Remedy and general body cleanout”…

Best Flu Remedy and general body cleanout

If you have the flu or feel a bit ‘under the weather’, this one is for you!

Actually, the flu is an effort your body makes to get rid of accumulated toxins and sometimes, dust or some other kind of pollution you have been breathing in. The flu shot does nothing for you except prevent the body from doing its normal spring cleaning. Here is a wonderful remedy, recommended by a friend and adapted to local conditions, that I have found to be very helpful.

Ingredients:

  • some slices of ginger root
  • a stick of cinnamon bark
  • three or four cloves
  • some good spring water
  • juice from half a bitter lime (here it’s called ‘lima azeda’) or a lemon
  • a teaspoon of local honey

Prepare the drink by squeezing the juice of half of a lime (you can also use lemon) into a mug. Add a teaspoon of good local honey (or as close as you can get), cut some slices of ginger root. Heat the ginger root, the cinnamon and the cloves with about a liter of water to a boil, add the liquid to to the lemon juice and honey in your mug, stir and you’re ready to go. Careful, you might have to wait a moment for the drink to cool down a bit.

I have been using this remedy for the past year or two now and it helped me tremendously get over some rough patches in my life. I’m sipping some of it right now…

Enjoy!

After this remedy had been available on line for a few months, someone suggested to add a stick of cinnamon bark and three or four cloves to the basic ginger and lemon recipe, to be boiled together with the ginger. It makes the drink taste better and some say the spices add curative power.

I have never felt better and perhaps this drink has something to do with that.
